My Educational Technology Journey
Welcome to my website! I look forward to continuing my educational journey at Boise State University, pursuing a Master’s in Educational Technology with a Graduate Certificate in School Technology Coordination. I earned my Graduate Certificate as a Technology Integration Specialist. I received a B.S. in Elementary Education, with a minor in psychology at Florida State University in 1993. I was fortunate to begin my teaching career in my hometown of Secaucus, New Jersey. My employment there consists of teaching first grade, fifth grade, and NJ ASK Preparation Intervention. I am currently teaching fifth grade participating in the NASA Explorer Schools Program. I recently received a STEM Best Practice Award and had the chance to research at NASA Goldstone Communications Network in the Mojave Desert, Cal. and work with the GAVRT (Radio Astronomy Team) I am a passionate STEM advocate and write many technology infused curriculum and Instructional Design.
Early on in my career, I participated in extensive graduate coursework at Montclair State University in School Guidance and Counseling. I took time to raise my pride and joys, three outrageous sons and concentrate on my teaching career. Now my yearning for more education brings me to Boise State University to enhance my passion for technology-infused classrooms.
I serve on my district’s Technology Committee, consisting of a small group of facilitators who meet weekly to concentrate on a school technology plan, faculty training needs, district-wide assessment and district networking. The honor to be selected as a member of this leadership position has sparked the need in me to gain greater understanding of the world of technology. This broader knowledge will benefit not only my students, but the school district as well.
I invite you to join with me on this new educational path as I become skilled in methods implementing technology into the K-12 curriculum and coordinating the networking and operational needs of a school district. and support on this It is exhilarating to envision what future possibilities are in store for our students, teachers and administrators. The potentials are endless and with the education I will gain at Boise State University, I expect to play an intricate role in this process.
